This 12-month project involved a complete transformation of a family home in Chislehurst, taking the property from a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom house to a spacious 5-bedroom, 4-bathroom home — delivered in close collaboration with MA Studio Architects.

 

Complete Structural Transformation

The property underwent a full internal renovation alongside a rear extension and complete loft conversion, adding significant new living space across the upper floors. To create a fully habitable basement level, the entire existing property was underpinned to lower the ground floor level, with comprehensive waterproofing works carried out and backed by a 20-year insurance guarantee.

 

A Statement Staircase

At the heart of the home, a bespoke solid oak staircase was hand-crafted with a sweeping curved handrail and slender black balusters, rising through a full-height stairwell beneath a skylight and statement pendant.

 

Loft Conversion & Bedroom Suite

The loft conversion created an additional bedroom with a private ensuite, with vaulted ceilings, an arched dormer window, and rooflights bringing natural light deep into the space. Standing seam zinc barrel dormers were hand-formed to a curved profile — a defining detail of the roofline.

 

Luxury Bathrooms & Wellness Spaces

Bathrooms throughout feature natural stone and patterned tiling, sculptural freestanding baths, and high-end brassware. All sanitary ware, tiles, and bathroom design services were supplied by Bromley Bathroom Company.

 

Basement Gym & Cinema

The new basement level houses a private gym and dedicated cinema room, adding valuable additional living space without altering the home's external footprint.

 

Mechanical & Electrical Upgrade

The property underwent a complete overhaul of all services, including:

• Full rewire and smart home systems

• New wet underfloor heating throughout the basement and ground floor

• New Megaflo cylinder and boiler installation

 

The Result

The finished property is a complete transformation — combining classic red-brick character with contemporary interiors, exceptional craftsmanship, and thoughtfully designed additional space across the loft and basement.
